Tanzanian Africa Project

Give a really worthwhile Christmas present this year – a Christmas Gift Card to support our twinned parish of Moita Bwawani, in our Tanzanian Africa Project.

Choose from three life changing themes:

  • Sponsor a Catechist to spread the Word of God, also for £10

  • A preview of the cards will be displayed on the parish website and at the back of the church when we re-open.
  • An order form is available as a PDF to complete or print
  • Orders can be placed through a number of different methods – phone, post, email and when the church re-opens by returning an order form via the collection basket at the back of the church *marked for TAP
  • Payment can be made by cheque with your order or through BACS *details on the order form
  • Filled orders for cards will then be posted or delivered to your address OR they can be collected at the church by arrangement *please communicate your preferred means when placing your order.

What we have been doing

The SVP group in the Parish has continued to provide help and support in our local area throughout the pandemic. To date in 2020 we have assisted 190 households with help for essentials, spending £21,000. Our volunteers are committed to offering practical help where it is needed and we can signpost to other organisations for expert advice in areas such as housing, benefits, and debt.

How we can help you
We are here to fight poverty in all its forms.through practical assistance to people in need. If you need our help please phone our regional office on 02890351561. One of our volunteer members will call you back. Be assured that everything you say is confidential. Our members are here to listen and to offer practical support in time of difficulty.

How you can make a regular donation

We have standing order forms at the back of the church. If wanting to make a regular donation please take a standing order form home and complete it and send it to our Treasurer Joe Keenan 10 Finchley Park Belfast BT4 2HZ. Alternatively you can download a standing order form from the SVP website at www.svp.ie (click “donate now” choose £,( rather than Euro) then tick “monthly” and click “download standing order”). You can then print off the standing order, complete it and send it to Joe Keenan at the above address.

How you can make a one off donation

There are SVP envelopes at the back of the Church. Please place your donation in the envelope, completing the gift aid declaration if desired and place it in the Church collection. Alternatively you can donate online. Go to www.svp.ie, click “donate now” ,opt for £, and tick “one off donation”. Where you are asked “I want my donation to go to”  please select “North”, and importantly,, please complete the “specific location to help” box by specifying “St Colmcille’s Ballyhackamore”. That is important if you want your donation to be used in our area.
