TWENTY-FIFTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME (Page 932, 452, 499)
25th week in Ordinary Time
Readings : Sunday Cycle C, Weekday Cycle 2, Psalter Week 1
Entrance Antiphon | I am the salvation of the people, says the Lord. Should they cry to me in any distress, I will hear them, and I will be their Lord for ever. |
1st Reading | (Amos 8:4-7) Against those who “buy up the poor for money”.
|
Psalm | (Psalm 112) Praise the Lord, who raises the poor. |
2nd Reading | (1 Timothy 2:1-8) There should be prayers offered for everyone to God, who wants everyone to be saved. |
Acclamation | Alleluia, alleluia! Open our heart, O Lord, to accept the words of your
Son. Alleluia! |
Gospel | (Luke 16:1-13) You cannot be a slave both of God and of money.
|
Children | There was a man who worked for a rich employer. The worker wasn’t doing a very good job, so the rich man said the worker couldn’t keep his job. The worker knew that he would need friends if times were about to get hard. So he helped the people who owed the rich man money. The worker then had people who would help him when he had no job. Jesus wants us to use what we have wisely. We must use the gifts we have been given well. |
Communion Antiphon | (Psalm 118:4-5) You have laid down your precepts to be carefully kept; may my ways be firm in keeping your statues. |
