Matthew 5: 13-16

Children Jesus tells his followers they have an important job to do. When others see the good things Jesus’ friends do, they see just how much God our Father loves them.

ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

St Brigid’s parish will have their annual St Brigid’s Day talk, given by His Eminence Cardinal Vincent Nichols Archbishop of Westminster, on “Significant Aspects of The Jubilee of Mercy” in St. Brigid’s Church this Tuesday 7th February at 7.30pm Everyone welcome.

 

BETHANY BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT 

Bethany Bereavement Support is offered on an individual basis in the home, to groups in drop-in centres, by phone calls, by helping at funeral liturgies and remembrance services. A full training course is offered over a 10 evening  period. DIOCESAN VOCATION WEEKEND

Are you being called to make Christ’s presence real in the world?  Have you ever considered the possibility that God is calling you to do so as a priest in the Church?  If so, take this opportunity to gather with other men who are discerning a vocation to the priesthood.  This retreat will create the time and space to help you discern God’s calling in your life.

DIOCESAN PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2017

Full board in 4* hotel: Monday 10th – Monday 17th July, for £675 ; Tuesday 11th – Sunday 16th July, for £590.

Full board for sick or infirm pilgrims with nursing care in Accueil Notre-Dame: Tuesday 11th – Sunday 16th July for £490.

CENTENARY PILGRIMAGE TO FATIMA 1917 – 2017

The Diocesan Centenary Pilgrimage to Fatima will be led by the Most Rev Noel Treanor. There are two options-

(1)Thursday 27th July to Thursday 3rd August for £659;

(2)Tuesday 25th July to Thursday 3rd August 2017, for £709.

Option 2 includes 3 nights in Santiago de Compostla.

JOB VACANCY : ST COLMCILLE’S PARISH

Administration Support Part Time

 

St Colmcille’s Parish requires a part time permanent Administration Support who will provide general office duties to the Parish team and deliver their duties in a professional and effective manner. If you are interested then we want to hear from you.

 

You will be highly organised, possess good communication skills and effectively and positively work in a small team. Competent in Microsoft Office, ideally possessing database updating skills. You will have the ability to manage and update the Parish website and social media.  This role requires a person who is consistently welcoming, helpful and respectful to all who come into contact with the Parish office.  You will be highly confidential and discreet.

 

There can be some flexibility around the working pattern but it is expected the hours will be Monday to Thursday 10.00am to 12.30pm and Friday 10.00am to 1.00pm. The salary is £10.00 per hour. For an application pack please email-  stcolmcilles@downandconnor.org

APOSTOLIC WORK MONTHLY MEETING

The next meeting of Apostolic Work is this Tuesday, 7th February, at 8.00pm. in the Iona Room. New or former members always welcome.  Even if you do not wish to commit to full membership we are always looking for help when it comes to the 3 fundraising events we organise each year.  If you are willing to occasionally, or regularly, help at these in any way please let a member know and, if you are happy to do so, give them your contact details. It is most important that you know that you don’t have to be old to help at Apostolic Work!

The Living Faith group will meet this Thursday 9th February at 7.30pm

 

PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL
