Readings : Sunday Cycle C, Weekday Cycle 2, Psalter Week 4
Entrance Antiphon | (Ecclesiasticus 36:18) Give peace, O Lord, to those who wait for you, that your prophets be found true. Hear the prayers of your servant, and of your people Israel. |
1st Reading | (Exodus 32:7-11. 13-14) The Lord relented and did not bring on his people
the disaster he had threatened. |
2nd Reading | (1 Timothy 1:12-17) Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. |
Acclamation | Alleluia, alleluia! May the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ enlighten
the eyes of our mind, so that we can see what hope his call holds for us. Alleluia! |
Gospel | (Luke 15:1- 32) There will be rejoicing in heaven over one repentant
sinner. |
Children | Jesus tells three stories. One is about a shepherd who leaves ninety-nine sheep to go and find one which is lost. He is delighted to find the lost sheep and has a party to celebrate! In another story a woman searches everywhere for a lost coin and is overjoyed when she finds it!
The third story is about a father who has two sons. The younger son takes his share of the money and leaves home. He spends it all having a good time. Eventually the son decides to go back home to his father and say sorry. The father is so happy to see his son again he throws a huge party for him! |
Communion Antiphon | (Psalm 35:8) How precious is your mercy, O God! The children of men seek shelter in the shadow of your wings. |
