11th week in Ordinary Time

Readings : Sunday Cycle C, Weekday Cycle 2, Psalter Week 3

Entrance        O Lord, hear my voice, for I have called to you; be my  help.

Antiphon        Do not abandon or forsake me, O God, my Saviour.

1st Reading   (2 Samuel 12:7-10, 13)  The Lord forgives your sin; you are not to die.

Response          Forgive, Lord, the guilt of my sin.

2nd Reading   (Galatians 2:16, 19-21)  I live now not with my own life but with the life of

                        Christ who lives in me.

Acclamation   Alleluia, alleluia!  I am the Way, the Truth and the Life, says the Lord;

no one can come to the Father except through me.  Alleluia!

Gospel          (Luke 7:36-8:3)  Her many sins have been forgiven, or she would not have

                        shown such great love.

Children:      Jesus was eating a meal with an important person when a woman came in.

Everyone thought she was a bad person.  She brought expensive ointment and

covered Jesus’ feet in ointment and kisses.  She was showing Jesus how sorry

she was for the things she had done wrong.  Jesus forgave her sins.  This

woman was forgiven, and Jesus welcomed her back as a friend.

Communion  There is one thing I ask of the Lord, only this do I seek: to live in the house

Antiphon       of the Lord all the days of my life.

YEAR OF MERCY – CARE FOR THE SICK

“The signs he works, especially in favour of sinners, the poor, the marginalised, the sick, and the suffering, are all meant to teach mercy.  Everything in him speaks of mercy.  Nothing in him is devoid of compassion.”  Pope Francis, Misericordiae Vultus 8.

We all know someone who is ill.  Could you visit them or call them on the phone?  Remember to pray for the sick, that they may experience the healing only Christ can bring.
