25th SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME – (Page 791, 452 & 499)

Readings : Sunday Cycle B, Weekday Cycle 1, Psalter Week 4

Entrance Antiphon I am the salvation of the people, says the Lord. Should you cry to me in any distress, I will hear them, and I will be their Lord for ever.
1st Reading (Wisdom 2:12, 17-20)  Let us condemn him to a shameful death.
Psalm The Lord upholds my life.
2nd Reading (James 3:16-4:3) Peacemakers, when they work for peace, sow the seeds which will bear fruit in holiness.
Acclamation Alleluia, alleluia!  I am the Light of the world, says the Lord, anyone who follows me will have the light of life.  Alleluia!
Gospel (Mark 9:30-37)  The Son of Man will be delivered.  If anyone wants be first, he must make himself servant of all.
Children Jesus’ friends were arguing about who was the most important. Jesus said that people who want to be first must put themselves last and serve others.  Anyone who makes children welcome is welcoming Jesus himself.  And if we welcome Jesus we are welcoming God our Father.
Communion Antiphon You have laid down your precepts to be carefully kept; may my ways be firm in keeping your statutes.
