CHRIST THE KING – (Page 693 & 452)

34th Week in Ordinary Time

Readings : Sunday Cycle A, Weekday Cycle 2, Psalter Week 2

Entrance

Antiphon

How worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and divinity, and wisdom and strength and honour. To him belong glory and power for ever and ever.
1st Reading (Ezekiel 34:11-12, 15-17) As for you, my sheep, I will judge between sheep and sheep.
Psalm The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.
2nd Reading (1 Corinthians 15:20-26, 28) He will hand over the kingdom to God the Father, so that God may be all in all.
Acclamation Alleluia, alleluia! Blessings on him who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessings on the coming kingdom of our father David! Alleluia!
Gospel (Matthew 25:31-46) He will take his seat on his throne of glory, and he will separate men one from another.
Children Jesus said that when he comes, the king will separate the good people from the bad, like a shepherd separates sheep and goats. He said that those who have helped other people have helped God. They are good and will be rewarded: but those who have refused to help others are bad and will be punished..

Antiphon

The Lord sits as King for ever. The Lord will bless his people with peace.
