NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF DEVOTION TO THE HOLY SOULS

During the month of November Mass will be celebrated each day for the repose of the souls of those deceased whose names have been included in the November Dead Lists.

Lists are available at the rear of the Church. If you wish to donate an offering for the Masses, please include it with the List in the envelope provided.  Completed Lists can be placed in the collection baskets or in the box at the front of the Church.

PARISH ACTIVITIES

SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION

Young people, who are not receiving preparation classes in their school for the Sacraments, are invited to evening classes held in the Parochial Hall.

First Confession and First Holy Communion class continues

on Tuesday 25th October at 6.00pm, class ends at 7.00pm;

Confirmation class continues on Wednesday 26th October, 6.15pm – 7.15pm.

APOSTOLIC WORK

The next meeting will be in the Iona Room on Tuesday 1st of November at 8.15pm  . Please note slightly later time. Plans for the Christmas Sale at the end of the month will be made.

INCA TRAIL

Take part in the Belfast Trail on Friday 25th November 2016 in Aid of Cancer Fund for Children! The evening will include the Belfast (Car) Trail beginning at 7.30pm outside the Parochial Hall, followed by Peruvian Cuisine and Entertainment.  Cancer Fund for Children is the leading local charity that provides practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people aged 0 to 24 affected by cancer & their families.  Alyssia and Serena McAnee are members of the charity Trekker Team taking part in the ten day challenge next Summer.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ETHIOPIA TEAM 2017

Living Youth is recruiting for another youth team to travel to Ethiopia next summer.

Applicants should be 18 years or over and all team members will be expected to contribute to the cost of the trip as well as engage in an extensive fundraising campaign.

THE LARDER

Every week The Larder distribute food, toiletries, bin bags, cleaning products, washing up liquid, Jay cloths and Brillo Pads to poor families in East Belfast.  We as a Parish collect these items twice a year.  So for the month of November we will have boxes at the back of the church to collect these items with the exception of baked beans and cereals of which they have an ample supply.

UNITY PILGRIMS

Sunday 13th November 2016 is Remembrance Sunday, a Sunday on which we as a Parish express our unity with our fellow Christians by attending a service at one of our neighbouring churches.  A list of the services and their times is set out on a list at the back of the church.  Please put your name on the list together with the church you will be attending and the time of the services.

QUIZ NIGHT

St Vincent de Paul Quiz Night – Friday 18th November 2016 at 8.00pm in St Colmcilles Church Hall.  Brian and Siobhan Gilfedder are hosting a trivia fun quiz in aid of the St Vincent de Paul Christmas Appeal.  Why not come and support a great cause and have a great night’s craic.  £5.00 per head and no reasonable limit to team size.  Bring your own bottle!
