Entrance               God is in his holy place, God who unites those who dwell in his house; Antiphon he himself gives might and strength to his people.

1st Reading           (1 Kings 3:5, 7-12)  You have asked for a discerning judgement for yourself.

Psalm                    Lord, how I love your law!

2nd Reading          (Romans 8:28-30)  God intended us to become true images of his Son.

Acclamation        Alleluia, alleluia!  I call you friends, says the Lord, because I have made known to you everything I have learnt from my Father.  Alleluia!

Gospel                   (Matthew 13:44-52)   He sells everything he owns and buys the field.

Children               Jesus tells us that heaven is like a piece of valuable treasure that is worth searching for and finding.

Communion        Bless the Lord, O my soul, and never forget all his benefits.

PARISH WEBCAM

Parishioners are invited to view parish Masses and other parish services with the help of the parish website: www.st-colmcilles.net where you will find the Webcam. Click on ‘WEBCAM’ and scroll to view. The picture quality has been greatly enhanced recently. The Webcam is normally on 24 hours a day. It should also work on iphones, ipads and Android devices. The sound is normally only on during Mass and other Church services.

 

ARRANGEMENTS FOR BAPTISM IN OUR PARISH

The Sacrament of Baptism is one of the most joyful occasions both for the family and the Parish and everyone is welcome.  The next Baptismal Course takes place Tuesday 19th August in the Iona Room from 8.00pm to 9.30pm, where parents will receive their Baptismal pack and can arrange the date for their child’s Baptism. Baptisms in the Parish take place on the first and last Sunday of each month and attendance at the course is arranged through Philomena in the Parish Office.

PARISH FAMILY

FIRST FRIDAY – Father Ciaran will attend the sick and housebound in the parish this Tuesday.

HOLY HOUR  –  this Thursday evening from 7.00pm to 8.00pm in St. Peter’s Cathedral to thank God for the gift of the Eucharist and to pray for priests and vocations  This month we will be praying especially for the situation in Gaza, Syria and Iraq. All are most welcome.

YOUTH 2000  –  Summer Festival, Cistercian College, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary from Thursday 14​​th to Sunday ​17​​th August​.  For young people aged 16 to 35, an opportunity not to be missed to experience the Catholic faith and meet many new people.  This Festival has been nicknamed the “Holy Oxygen” with over 1000 young people from all corners of Ireland attending last year. DRUMALIS  –  the parish retreat this year will take place from Saturday 13th to Sunday 14th September.  Anyone who is interested in going please contact Pat on 9067 1036, to book a place.

 

NATIONAL GRANDPARENTS PILGRIMAGE –  To Our Lady’s shrine at Knock takes place on  Sunday 14th September.   Blessing of the sick 2.30 pm Mass 3pm.Chief Celebrant Archbishop Charles Brown Papal Nuncio. Everyone welcome.  Children are invited to compose a prayer for their Grandparents and send it to
