1st Reading (Acts 10:34, 37-43)  We have eaten and drunk with him after his resurrection.
Psalm This day was made by the Lord; we rejoice and are glad
2nd Reading (Colossians 3:1-4)   You must look for the things that are in heaven, where Christ is.
Acclamation Alleluia, alleluia!  Christ, our passover, has been sacrificed; let us celebrate the feast then, in the Lord.  Alleluia!
Gospel (John 20:1-9)  He must rise from the dead.
Children Early on Sunday morning Mary Magdalene went to Jesus’ tomb  she saw that the stone had been rolled away from the entrance.  Mary ran to tell the disciples what had happened.  Peter and John raced to the tomb.  When they got there they saw the cloths; that Jesus’ body had been wrapped in, but Jesus was not there.  Then the disciples knew that Jesus had risen!
CommunionAntiphon Christ our Passover has been sacrificed, alleluia; therefore let us keep the feast with the unleavened bread of purity and truth, alleluia, alleluia.

ARRANGEMENTS FOR BAPTISM IN OUR PARISH

The Sacrament of Baptism is one of the most joyful occasions both for the family and the Parish and everyone is welcome.  The next Baptismal Course takes place on Tuesday 21st April in the Iona Room from 8.00pm to 9.30pm, where parents will receive their Baptismal pack and can arrange the date for their child’s Baptism. Baptisms in the Parish take place on the first and last Sunday of each month and attendance at the course is arranged through Philomena in the Parish Office.

 

 

PARISH FAMILY

PARISH LITURGY FOR HOLY WEEK AND EASTER  – a sincere thank you to our Choir and all the participants in the Parish Liturgy for Holy Week and Easter.  Our thanks to the members of the Liturgy Committee and also to the people who helped to prepare the Church for Lent and Easter.  The effort of everyone is very much appreciated.

EASTER DUTY – “ … each of the faithful is obliged to receive Holy Communion at least once a year.  This precept must be fulfilled during Paschal time unless for a good reason it is fulfilled at another time during the year.”  Canon 920.

WALK WITH ME BOOKS – An Eastertide Journey of Prayer for 2015 are available at the back of the Church.  Price £1.  Please put money in either of the Candelabra boxes.

CTS BOOKLETS –  a new range of resources is on sale in the Church porch. There is also a variety of cards to purchase, to celebrate special occasions. Payment may be placed in any of the money boxes in the walls next to the candelabras.

HALL BOOKINGS  –  Pat will not be available until Monday 13th April to take bookings for the Hall.

ANNUAL DIOCESAN LITURGY SEMINAR  –  entitled “Closer to Christ in the Eucharist” will be held on Saturday 9th May from 1.00pm to 4.30pm in St Brigid’s Parish Centre, Derryvolgie Avenue.  It will be presented by Brother Pat Mullins O.Carm. The Seminar is open to all, and will be especially interesting to Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. BAPTISM  –  we welcome into the parish family Jericho Jonathan Little, Malachi Benjamin Sheals and Eleanor Lucy Turner who were baptised in St. Colmcilles last weekend.

MONEY MATTERS

The Easter Voluntary Collection will be taken up at all Masses this weekend.

OFFERTORY ENVELOPES FOR THE NEW YEAR  –  begin next Sunday.  New boxes of envelopes, are in the foyer of the Church this weekend.  If you wish to contribute by Standing Order or by envelopes and do not do so currently, please leave your name, address and telephone number in the bulletin box and Philomena will be in contact with you.

TROCAIRE BOXES  –  parishioners are asked to return their Trócaire box to the parish as soon as possible.  Boxes may be left in the parish office or returned through the Offertory collection baskets at Mass.  It would be appreciated if any small coins could be changed to larger denominations.  All cheques should be made payable to Saint Colmcille’s Parish.

INDOOR BOWLING CLUB  –  Happy Easter to all members.  Bowling will recommence on Thursday 16th April.

 

Concert   –  by St.Colmcille’s Choir, St. Joseph’s Primary School & the Sing for Life Choir will be singing an extravaganza of contemporary & familiar songs on Friday 17th April at 7.30pm  in St. Colmcille’s Church, to raise funds jointly for Cancer Focus NI and our own Parish. Light refreshments included in the Parochial Hall afterwards.  Tickets £10, Children 11-17 £5, Children under 11 Free. Please put the date in your diary now.  Not to be missed!

 

PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN LONDON

Laganside Sinfonia  –  Charity Concert in Aid of NI Children’s Hospice and Giving What We Can.  Laganside Sinfonia is proud to present a concert in aid of charity on 11th April at 7:45pm in aid of the NI children’s hospice and Giving What We Can (a charity dedicated to eliminating poverty in the 3rd world) in St Anne’s Church, Dunmurry (beside Rathmore). Tickets are £5 (£2 for under 16s) and will be available at the door on the night. The programme will include Excerpts from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concert as well as Dvorak’s New World Symphony. Refreshments will be served after. Please come along and support some very worthwhile charities!

Lough Derg Pilgrimage Season –  opens Saturday 2nd May with One Day Retreats which continue on 3, 4, 9, 10, 12, 16, 17, 19, 23, 25, 25 of May. Advance booking is essential.  The Three Day Pilgrimage season begins on Friday 29th May.
