LENT PROGRAMME
A BIBLICAL WALK THROUGH THE MASS
For many Catholics, the Mass might, in a certain sense, be almost too familiar. We show up to Church each Sunday and perform certain prayers and rituals that many of us have known since childhood. But what do all these prayers and rituals mean? Do we really understand the significance of all that we are saying and doing in the liturgy?
Would you like to transform your experience at Mass? Would you like to appreciate the splendour of the liturgy more? Are you prepared to really encounter Jesus truly present?
If you desire to understand the Mass and participate in it more deeply, this 5 session programme is for you….starting on Wednesday 8th March, in the Iona Room Parochial Hall, with repeats every Friday morning.

EUCHARIST ADORATION
Monday and Tuesday from 2.00pm to 9.00pm in the Chapel of Adoration. Could you make a commitment to spend one hour with JESUS in the Chapel of Adoration on a Monday or Tuesday, during this Lent?

A Lenten Journey of Prayer booklet, to aid you with your daily devotions in Lent, are available at the back of the Church. Price £1. Please put money in the box in the wall next to the candelabra.
PASTORAL AREA PROGRAMME FOR LENT
Please pick up a flyer in the porch today, to be informed about liturgies and programmes that may support you on your Lenten journey this year.
THE LARDER
Beginning next weekend, 4th/5th March, the St Vincent De Paul Society will be placing boxes in the Church porch to collect food stuffs etc, for the Larder, the food bank attached to St Christopher’s Church, Mersey St, who help many of our clients who are in severe poverty. The following items would be most suitable and a great help – cereal, jam, pasta, rice, pasta & curry sauces, tinned meat, tinned fruit, tinned vegetables, biscuits, coffee, toilet rolls, washing powder, tooth brushes, toiletries, washing up liquid.
APOSTOLIC WORK LENTEN LUNCH The annual Lenten Lunch will be held in the Parochial Hall after both Masses on next Sunday 5th March. There will be a collection after Mass on next Saturday 4th March. Please help the Missions by supporting Apostolic Work in whatever way you can.
LENTEN PIONEER PLEDGE
Many people choose to abstain from alcohol during Lent. Why not take this opportunity to help someone you know with an alcohol or drug problem by offering your sacrifice for their freedom from addiction? WEDNESDAY CLUB
You are invited to a demonstration of ‘Baking on the Griddle’. Come and sample the goodies and bring some home this Wednesday 1st March at 2.00pm.
WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER
The Women’s World Day of Prayer will be held in Belmont Presbyterian Church at 8.00pm this Friday 3rd March. Praying for the Philippines is the focus for this year. Men, women and children are welcome.
TOCCATA CONCERT
Toccata Concert In aid of SOS NI and Brain Injury Matters on next Saturday 4th March – 8.00pm. Doors open 7.45pm. Twelve West End Performers accompanied by a local Belfast Community Choir will perform Songs from the Shows and iconic Rock and Roll Music.
