MISSION SUNDAY
Today is Mission Sunday. It is the day when we are being asked to dig into our hearts to assist the young local church overseas.
We are being called to play our part in helping to bring the word of God to those who most hunger for it in the form of support for our many young churches.
“That they may have life” is our theme for Mission Month and as such our spiritual and financial offerings are crucial for the work of the Church overseas.
Your generous contribution today will be sent in its’ entirety to support our many mission projects.
We can’t do it without you. Large or small, it makes a difference and thank you for your help. For more information phone 00 353 1497 2035 or look at website www.wmi.ie

TRóCAIRE’S LENTEN CAMPAIGN
Eamonn Meehan, Director of Trócaire, has written to thank the People of Down and Connor, Clergy and Parish Workers for the support given to their Lenten Campaign 2014. A total of £685,445.91 plus €120 was received from Down and Connor. Additional funding was also received through the Matched Funding initiative of the UK Department for International Development. Trócaire’s programmes last year reached over 3.4 million people directly and had an indirect impact on over 30 million people worldwide. This would not be possible without the generous support of the people of our diocese and the other dioceses throughout Ireland. Please convey Trócaire’s appreciation to parishioners, schools and groups of your parish who helped with the Lenten fundraising campaign. The letter from Eamonn Meehan is attached for downloading, copying and display purposes.
