OTHER NOTICES

LIVING CHURCH REPORT– to the 8 parishes in our Vicariate recently, was hosted by St Colmcille’s parish. A number of statistics were presented for our consideration. This included factual information gathered in a recent Diocesan audit. Our Priests are highly engaged in celebration of Masses,  pastoral work, visiting the sick, school support, chaplaincy, preparation and celebration of Sacraments etc. They are also engaged in parish management duties, administration and sit on many committees etc. This hardly sums up their workload. Furthermore the number of Masses provided in the Vicariate for parishioners has remained constant over the past ten years, and Weddings and Baptisms have increased. Despite this, the numbers of Priests in active ministy has fallen. The ten year projected figures for the Diocese (88 parishes) are that there will only be 60 Priests under the age of 65 years, with only 17 of them under the age of 50 years. Food for thought !

HALL BOOKING – Pat is not available to take booking for the Parochial Hall from Monday 2nd – Friday 6th June inclusive.

THE ART OF CARING – St Colmcille’s Art Exhibition. The Committee wish to thank all those people  who gave their time so generously and who made the exhibition such a success. We would also like to thank our sponsors, artists and buyers with whom none of it would be possible. The exhibition made in excess of £20,000 but it does much more than that. It brings a  whole range of people together who enjoy themselves, get a different experience and make a major contribution to the wellbeing of many. Thank you all. More details later.
