THE MASS
If you would like to ‘get more’ out of the Mass, please come along to the next session which looks at the Biblical roots of the Liturgy of the Eucharist. Everyone is welcome on this Wednesday 29th March, 8.00pm – 9.00pm and Friday (repeat) 31st March, 10.00am – 11.00am in the Iona Room, Parochial Hall.
TROCAIRE WEEK FOUR
“…whoever honours a mother is like someone amassing a fortune.” Ecclesiasticus, 3:4. This Mother’s Day we pray for mothers around the world who agonise over their children’s futures in the harshest environments. We think of Miriam, who appears on this Lent’s Trócaire Box, as she wonders if she will manage to get her little daughter Maria to safety when the next storm hits northern Honduras and floods their home. St Vincent De Paul Society have placed boxes in the Church porch to collect food stuffs etc. Please participate for the season of Lent.
EASTER OUTREACH
Outreach Ministers should collect their set of envelopes this weekend 25th/ 26th March, in the Church Porch.
Ministers of Outreach will be starting to visit every home in the Parish
this week with a pack containing an Easter Card from Father Ciaran
detailing the times of Holy Week and Easter Ceremonies and the 4th
edition of St Colmcille’s Causerie. We currently need another 4 people
to ensure every home in the Parish is visited with this year’s Easter
material. If you can help the Parish by delivering in any of the
following areas, please speak to Philomena in the porch after Mass:
Mawhinney Park/Comber Road; Old Mill/Coopers Mill; Holywood Road (Arches side); or Bloomfield Road area

ALZHEIMER’S SOCIETY The society are offering a programme of training, designed to improve knowledge, skills, and understanding of family and friends who are supporting/ caring for someone with dementia. Bless all mothers, that their love may be deep and tender, and that they may lead their children to know and do what is good, living not for themselves alone, but for God and for others. Amen.

MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION Please volunteer for the Holy Week ceremonies and Easter weekend Masses, by adding you name to the Easter Ceremonies sheet on the Notice Board in the porch.
SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION First Reconciliation takes place this Wednesday 29th March at 6.30pm in Church. There will be over seventy children receiving the Sacrament. This Sacrament is the introduction to the foundation of their personal relationship with God. Please remember the children and their families in your prayers this week.
CHRISTIAN PASSOVER SEDER
The Parish Pastoral Council invites all parishioners to join them for the Passover Seder which will be held in the Parochial Hall at 7.30pm on the Monday evening of Holy Week, 10th April, three days before we celebrate the beginning of the Triduum with the Evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper.

WORLD MEETING OF FAMILIES 2018
Pope Francis personally chose Dublin to be the host diocese for the World Meeting of Families from 22th -26th August 2018.
Planning for this great national and international celebration of faith is well underway. A dedicated office and support team has been established and later this year a nationwide programme of talking about the family will begin with an emphasis on Pope Francis’ teaching and reflections. The World Meeting of Families promises to be an occasion that will reflect on the faith experience of families from many parts of the world as well as on the challenges and celebrations which characterise the ups and downs of day-to-day family life
Our own parish will join in this great celebration by hosting events and activities in the coming months.

APOSTOLIC WORK LENTEN LUNCH Thanks to all who supported this event on March 5th and to those who contributed to our church door collection. We appreciate the help of the scouts who put out the furniture for the event, We raised over £1600 for the Missions, thus benefiting the work of Missionaries and the lives of those whom they serve.
