Men of Galilee, why gaze in wonder at the heavens? This Jesus whom you saw ascending into heaven will return as you saw him go, alleluia. |

Psalm | God goes up with shouts of joy; the Lord goes up with trumpet blast. |
2nd Reading | (Ephesians 1:17-23) He made him sit at his right hand in heaven. |
Acclamation | Alleluia, alleluia! Go, make disciples of all the nations; I am with you always; yes, to the end of time. Alleluia! |
Gospel | (Mark 16:15-20) He was taken up into heaven: there at the right hand of God he took his place. |

Supporting persecuted Christians in the Middle East – there will be a day to support persecuted Christians in the Middle East on next Saturday. It will be held in St Finnian’s Church at the top of the Cregagh Road from 10.00am to 2.00pm. The day is being organised by Divine Healing Ministries and Open Doors, who for decades have worked with the persecuted Church worldwide. There will be table top sales, tea and coffee, and the Church will be open for prayer for those who are suffering. The plight of persecuted Christians has been widely publicised in recent times. The video of twenty-one Coptic Christians being marched along the beach to be beheaded was one of the saddest scenes of all, but it was only the tip of the iceberg. Many people have been dismayed by what is happening, would like to help but don’t know how to. All of the money raised will be used to support those who are suffering in the Middle East.
