30th Week in Ordinary Time

Readings : Sunday Cycle A, Weekday Cycle 2, Psalter Week 2

Entrance

Antiphon

Let the hearts that seek the Lord rejoice; turn to the Lod and his strength; constantly seek his face.
1st Reading (Exodus 22:20-26) If you are harsh with the widow, the orphan, my anger will flare against you.
Psalm I love you, Lord, my strength.
2nd Reading (1 Thessalonians 1:5-10) You broke with idolatry and became servants of God; you are now waiting for his Son.
Acclamation Alleluia, alleluia! Open our heart, O Lord, to accept the words of your Son. Alleluia!
Gospel (Matthew 22:34-40) You must love the Lord your God and your neighbour as yourself.
Children The enemies of Jesus asked him what the most important commandment was. They thought that whatever he chose they could prove him wrong.   Jesus said that loving God was the most important, and that loving our neighbour was next. If we love God and our neighbour we will be keeping all the commandments.

PARISH CENSUSis constantly changing due to new families moving into the parish, and existing families moving homes. If you have moved house please fill out a white card at the back of the Church, and again leave in the bulletin box. Parishioners who are moving out of the parish are asked to inform Philomena in the office when they have moved. Your co-operation in keeping our census up to date is appreciated.

Completed Lists can be placed in the collection baskets or in the box at the rear of the Church.

PIONEER ASSOCIATION – are promoting the Short-Term Pledge for November in honour of the Holy Souls. November is traditionally dedicated as the Month of the Holy Souls when we pray in a special way for family members/ relatives/friends who are no longer with us. By a long-standing Irish custom, many people choose to abstain from alcohol for the month of November and offer this sacrificial act for the benefit of their deceased loved ones, and for all the Souls in Purgatory. For more information contact 00 353 1874 9464.
