PARISH FAMILY

Father John Gallagher SMA, the former Parish Priest of our twinned parish of Moita Bwawani, Tanzania, is celebrating, this weekend, his Silver Jubilee in his home town of Crossmolina, Co. Mayo. Please remember him in your prayers as he gives thanks to God for his 25 years in the Lord’s service and as he prepares for a new missionary challenge in the Philippines.

BAPTISM  –  we welcome into the parish family Finn Anthony Brannigan who was baptised in St. Colmcilles during the week.

ITS YOUR MOVE – is a four session programme that will be delivered to Primary 7 classes in the Parochial Hall in June, by a young adult team from the parish. The programme is interactive and scripture based. It helps young people to consider their hopes and fears, overcome their concerns and make right choices, in making the transition to the post primary setting.

PARISH CENSUS  –  is constantly changing due to new families moving into the parish, and existing families moving homes.  The parish makes a conscious effort to ensure the information we hold is correct and up to date, but we need help from all families to ensure this is done.  If you have moved into the parish and have not registered, please complete a yellow census card at the back of the Church, and place in the bulletin box.  If you have moved house please fill out a white card at the back of the Church, and again leave in the bulletin box.  Parishioners who are moving out of the parish are asked to inform Philomena in the office when they have moved.  Your co-operation in keeping our census up to date is appreciated.

SUMMER CHILDREN’S WEEK – application forms for the children’s holiday bible week ‘Under the Big Top’, from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th August, for 4 – 8 year olds,  are available in the Church Porch and from colmcilleyouth@yahoo.co.uk

Annual Pilgrimage and Mass on St Patrick’s Mountain SAUL  –  will take place this Sunday at 3.00pm.  Bishop Noel Treanor will be the Celebrant.

Food Banks  –  the St.Vincent de Paul Society would like to draw Parishioners attention to the fact that a number of our local supermarkets have collection points for customer donations which are forwarded on to local Food Banks for distribution to those in need. Demand for the services of food banks is very high in the current economic climate. Please support these initiatives in any way you can.

MONEY MATTERS
